    • Excellent Ankle Holster for Boots  –  Review by , posted on
I have been shopping around for boot ankle holsters for some time, most of the ones I found are $100+ by the time you buy the holster and add in the extension strap. This GG is a bargain in comparison. It appears to be well made, and what I like best about it is that you can adjust how low or how high it rides on your boot easily. Once you wrap the velcro around your boot and lace it in, that's it It is NOT going anywhere, not shifting around, nothing. Like it is glued in place. Nice Some advice I can offer to anyone debating on carrying a Glock on their ankle. Curiosity was killing me and I weighed out the Glock 27 with 165gr Speer Gold Dot LE ammo department issue. You are looking at 27 ounces on your ankle That is a lot of weight to swing on your ankle, and try to deal with while running. Not to mention the back and leg strain, and pulled hamstrings you can get over a shift Remember, every pound of weight that you put on your ankle strains your leg and back muscles like 10lbs added to your back. I really like my Glock sub-compact 27, but honestly I have come to the realization that they are just too heavy for an ankle gun at least for me, I am not a huge guy. The bootlock GG rig certainly is stought enough to support the Glock 27, but in my opinion the G27 on my ankle is a bit too bulky. After years of trying different BUG rigs for ankle carry, I like many other veteran officers have come back to the venerable SW J-frame. Mine is a SW 442 Airweight, weighs in at 17.5 ounces loaded. I have not found a better ankle rig for boot wearers than a J-frame and this GG bootlock ankle holster. And I have spent a lot of cash trying a lot of them. P. Ciarello

Product quality materials, professional duty grade. Performance stays exactly where you put it, comfortable. Service Very good - after getting the runaround at Optics Planet - Chief took care of business quickly - for the same price.

This holster is great. Ive had it only a short time, but the fit and feel are great. If it wasnt for the weightI'm carrying a Glock 22 at the time of the weapon, I would forget I was even wearing it. This holster provides a great, non-slip hold to the boot which prevents the weapon from moving into odd positions while on the ankle. It seems to be well designed, now I just hope it holds up as great as it feels.
