On International Sales and Pending GSA

Jeff Tousa, CHIEF President August 2004 – Greetings to customers far and wide – I'm Jeff Tousa, the President of CHIEF. I hope to use this forum to send you an update every other month.

Strict Precautions on International Sales

I wanted to take a moment to tell you some of the things CHIEF is doing to serve you better. As you know, the jobs you do are more critical than at any other time in our nation's history. You are routinely called on to do more with less, and that is not lost on us here at CHIEF.

For starters, we are extremely vigilant about to whom we will and will not sell supplies. Since 9/11, we have incorporated extra security and fraud measures to ensure that the "bad guys" do not get their hands on anything we sell. Selling overseas is something we have always been extremely cautious about. CHIEF is taking every precaution and is in accordance with all federal laws.

Part of that process is an ongoing dialogue we maintain with the Department of Justice (DoJ). The DoJ regularly informs CHIEF of updates to their lists of restricted products, buyers, countries and quantities. In turn, we make sure that we comply and sell only to the right people.

GSA Setup Pending

To provide you with another venue to make buying from us easier, CHIEF is close to having our products set up on GSA. Stay tuned for the next update, where I'll go into further depth about this part of our vision for CHIEF.

As of this writing, CHIEF has submitted the necessary paperwork to GSA, including details on pricing, manufacturer warranties and inventory/quantity availability. We anticipate their response by the end of August, and hope to be fully set up on GSA by the end of September.

Naturally this is subject to change, and we'll keep you up to date on the status. Once CHIEF is set up on GSA, this means our government and department customers will have an exciting new means to purchase gear and supplies from CHIEF, and can make their selection from over 6,000 products from over 150 manufacturers.
