February might seem an odd time to be talking about wildfire season, but you'd be surprised. According to the Jan. 31 Wildland Fire Update from the National Fire News, "87 new fires were reported nationally yesterday. Five new large fires were reported: two in Texas, two in Missouri, and one in New Jersey."
