Kurt Bradley, Grants Consultant, is top of the line. What he doesn't know about grant writing hasn't been thought of yet. His assistance in 2004 helped my sister department, City of La Center Fire Department, secure FIRE Grant funding for a pumper truck. Now, with Kurt's assistance, La Center Rural Fire Department has been approved funding for a new pumper/tanker in the first round of 2005 FIRE grant funding.

From a Third-Round AFGP Winner!
We had applied for the Fire Act Grant previously and it was denied. We found ourselves in a situation where our SCBA cylinders had reached their DOT-mandated shelf life. We were also beginning to experience near-constant maintenance issues with our units due to their age and use. It was starting to become a firefighter health and safety issue. I decided to try the grant process again and contacted Kurt Bradley to ask for assistance. Kurt is wonderful to work with, even though CHIEF does not handle SCBA. Kurt was easily accessible by email, phone and even Nextel direct connect. He gave me hours of sound advice with good justification, and now we will be able to replace our aging SCBA with state-of-the-art equipment.

Just a quick note to say "Thank You" for the information you provide. It's a tough world out there trying to get grants to help fund this small volunteer fire company. Any information we can get to help write a successful grant is much appreciated.

I wanted to thank you once again for all of your help in getting our grant. I can't say enough about your program, and I encourage anyone who has questions to contact you at CHIEF Grants. I know for a fact if we had not received your help, our grant would have been denied. As you know we had been declined in years past, and it was because we did not have the knowledge to write a successful grant, but you have taught us a lot. So thank you once again for all of your help from everyone at Glen Alpine Fire Department. We look forward to working with you again in the future.

Kurt, I just want to thank you. You have no idea how much our entire department appreciated the help you gave us. I applied for a grant for two years with no results, then this year with your help and a desperate fire department we were able to write a grant that was noticed. Thanks to you we will have new bunker gear, pagers, SCBAs and a couple of floating pumps. We are so thankful for you and CHIEF.

God Bless You,

From a 1st-Round 2005 AFGP Winner!
My wife filled out the 2005 AFG application and wrote the narrative for our department, and I sent it in. We received a phone call today from our Congressman and our Senator, announcing that we have the grant, for a new truck costing $175,000. This is the first grant our department has ever won.

Thanks for all the advice Kurt Bradley and CHIEF Grants gave concerning the writing of grants. My wife had to do some quick research because she was asked to do this one week before it closed. So she researched several websites, including yours, because she had never written a grant narrative before. Without websites like yours, she might not have been capable of writing such a great narrative.

I am one of your students from your seminar in Philadelphia. Our fire department has just received notice from our Senator that our grant has been approved. Our department is receiving about $38,000.

I wanted to thank you for the excellent training you provided. I hope to attend another seminar in the future. It is important to note, that our department had tried for several years to get a AFGP and were not successful. It is more than coincidence that after taking the seminar our grant was approved.

We now move into building a new Fire/EMS facility. Ours is over 30 years old, and quite antiquated. You can be sure I will be using the skills that I learned in your seminar to raise the funds to accomplish this goal. Once again, thanks for the training, it was certainly beneficial to our department.

Thanks to Kurt Bradley and CHIEF we will be purchasing brand new MSA SCBA's within the next couple of weeks. Without the education I received and the help along the way from you and CHIEF, we never would have received the grant.

We have previously applied but never were lucky enough to receive it. We went from "perennial loser" to First-Round Champions. Thanks again, and I will use CHIEF for purchases.
