NIMS ALERT: IS701, NIMS Multiagency Coordination System - Now OnlineDecember 5, 2006 - Press Release From NIMS Integration CenterLearn to coordinate the components of a multi-agency coordination system and how to establish the relationships between all elements of the system, with this new NIMS online course.Course InformationThis web-based course offers training on how to coordinate the components of a multiagency coordination system and how the relationships between all elements of the system are established. Integrated systems, where all incident-supportive facilities, equipment, personnel, procedures, and communications are combined, provide the means for coordinating and supporting domestic incident management activities. Course LengthAlthough the overall length of the course will vary by individual, IS-701 will take an average of 5 hours to complete. AudienceFederal, state, local and tribal emergency managers; first responders to include incident commanders from all emergency management disciplines; private industry personnel responsible for coordination activities during a disaster; and personnel of Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD). Course ObjectivesAfter completing the course, participants will be able to:
Course CompletionThe course is available at http://training.fema.gov/emiweb/is/is701.asp. When you have completed the course, you can take the online test, then fill out the student information and submit the test for scoring. EMI's Independent Study Office will notify you via e-mail of your successful completion of the course and will send you a course certificate. Classroom CourseAlthough IS701 is designed to be taken online as an interactive web-based course, classroom materials for this course are available. Materials may be downloaded for instructors to deliver to groups. To obtain scoring sheets for the test, course managers may call the EMI Independent Study program office at (301) 447-1256.
