DHS Announces the Release of the 2006 Fire Prevention and Safety Grants Applicant Tutorial

AFG Fire Prevention and Safety Grant Applicant Tutorial is now available through the www.firegrantsupport.com website.

The Applicant Tutorial for the AFG Fire Prevention and Safety Grants is now available through the www.firegrantsupport.com website. The tutorial is designed to instruct users on the preparation and submittal of competitive applications as well as provide an overview of the funding priorities and evaluation criteria.

The Fire Prevention and Safety Grants application period is presently scheduled to begin on Monday, December 4, 2006, at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Applications for these grants must be received by January 12, 2007, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Applicants who have questions regarding the Fire Prevention and Safety Grants opportunity should contact the help desk at 1-866-274-0960 or at firegrants@dhs.gov. During the application period, the help desk will operate Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (EST), but is prepared to revise hours of operation based on volume, demand and holidays.

The AFG is administered by the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Grants and Training in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration.
