What is it?
The National We Care Foundation, a nonprofit organization, assists police officers who are required to purchase their own body armor but cannot afford to do so.

In 1991, the Law Enforcement Training Network started a monthly drawing on its satellite network to give away bullet resistant vests to police officers. Several vest companies assisted by donating one vest per month for the first three months. Within those three months, LETN received over 200 letters from officers requesting vests.

A number of concerned citizens established the National We Care Foundation in 1992. Since that year, the foundation has awarded body armor to thousands of officers throughout the United States. Today, the foundation sees it's mission as providing new vests to law enforcement officers in need and educating them on the importance of body armor usage.
