From Homeland Security to the Local Station

Over $65 billion in federal grant monies and another $68 billion in corporate and private foundation monies will be available to law enforcement agencies, fire departments, emergency services, and local and state governments. These monies can be used for a wide variety of applications including, but not limited to, equipment, manpower and training.

During the last several years, the U.S. Government has changed the manner in which grants are applied for, awarded and evaluated. This system has become known as "performance grants". Their intent is to eliminate wasteful spending, through accountability, and to recognize those agencies that are producing the results that they stated they would achieve, if awarded funding. This has created a rather arduous, involved process for you, the Public Safety Agency, in applying for and managing these grants.

CHIEF is vigorously committed to helping our customers in any manner that we can. We understand that most public safety agencies do not pay for professional "grant writers" nor do they have individual staff members with the experience necessary to navigate the maze involved with finding, applying for, winning and managing a federal grant.

Properly researching and writing a grant is a time-consuming process. We know that your first and primary responsibility is the protection of, and service to, your citizens. We understand that urgent service calls and the unpredictable nature of public safety work make it virtually impossible to set aside time for grant-writing. That's where CHIEF Grants comes in.

We have placed, at your disposal, a staff of certified grants consultants who will assist you and members of your staff in locating and applying for grants.

We offer our grants consulting to our valued customers free of charge, as part of CHIEF's customer service to the men and women who work hard to keep us safe.

Since March 2004, CHIEF Grants has assisted thousands of departments with their search for needed funding. Our consultants have been responsible for assisting departments with winning more than $72,000,000 dollars in grant applications. To-date we have achieved an impressive 78% overall funding success rate.
