"Where Have We Been, Where Are We Going?"
With new services and more resources on the way, for 2005 we at CHIEF Grants are recommitting ourselves to helping you become better grant writers, find more funding streams, and develop funding and grant strategies for your department.
Well, it has been a wild and wooly ride for CHIEF Grants so far. We started this venture in March 2004 with the goal of assisting public safety agencies nationwide in accessing the millions of dollars in grant money that is available every year.
Renewing our commitment to you
Did we succeed in that goal? The answer is a resounding "yes!" Many of you, who had previously experienced failure or knew nothing about the world of grants, are now the recipients of over $1.5 million dollars in additional funding to purchase the equipment that your departments so desperately needed.
Public Safety Agencies throughout the United States now have a "one-stop shop" for grants, research and application assistance. CHIEF Grants brings you vital funding information to you on a daily basis. The CHIEF Grants website is proving more and more popular every day, as a definitive place to seek grant news, funding sources and information. The power of the Internet has brought you a resource that has opened the door and shined a bright light into an area that for many of you was looking dark and dismal.
We would like you all to know that we are not content to rest on our laurels. It is a challenge to keep the information fresh and informative. To that end, we would like to pledge our continued support to you, the everyday heroes that risk life and limb for us. Through 2005 and beyond we're going to build on the successes of our pilot year, to bring you an even more comprehensive online resource for grant information, as well as more services to help you find funding, hone your grant writing skills and develop your department's grant strategy.
What can you expect from CHIEF Grants in the coming months?
CHIEF Grants and CHIEF will continue to strive to fulfill your funding needs in whatever manner we may have available for your use. Knowledge is probably the biggest and best assistance we can impart to you, and we take that seriously. However, knowledge is useless unless it is delivered in a timely manner and placed where you are likely to access it easily. To that end, our website will continue to make sure that all of the grant information you see here is the most up to date and complete information that is currently available to you.
Additionally, our grants consultant is fast becoming sought for grant training seminars and conferences across the United States. These training events are brought to you by some of the leading resources and suppliers in our industry.
In the coming year you can expect CHIEF Grants to begin offering regionally sponsored grant training to you and the members of your department. Our philosophy is simple in this regard: "Give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he will feed himself and others for life!"
Please watch for a grant writing training seminar to come to your area. We hope you will attend and learn what you have been missing in trying to continue to deliver vital protective services to your communities.
Reach for the brass ring
The rewards are worth the effort. When that brass ring comes your way, reach for it and know that CHIEF Grants will continue to be here to help you. We encourage you to share your needs and desires in delivering the information and help that you need. Drop us a line with your suggestions and comments, and help us grow and improve to be the comprehensive grants service that you have sought so desperately.
It's been a great year for many of you, and 2005 promises to be even better. We will continue to be here to assist in finding and maximizing your budget monies carefully and judiciously.
Happy New Year to all of you from CHIEF Grants!
