- Internal sensor monitors thermal inertia exposure
- When the firefighter exceeds a predetermined time-weighted average temperature threshold, the audible heat alarm is activated, notifying the wearer that he or she is in a thermally dangerous environment

- High Temperature Functionality Testing: 500°F for 5 minutes and must meet 95db sound pressure at 9.9 feet
- Tumble/Vibration Test: 3 hours at 15 R.P.M., for a total of 2700 revolutions/drops in the 4-foot diameter tumbling apparatus
- Muffle Testing: Sound level evaluated in 5 positions, must meet 95db sound pressure at each position at 9.9 feet
- Data Logging: Capacity of 8,000 events with date and time stamp
