Hot Shield® is a multi-layer, patented protective face mask designed by firefighters for use in all wildland firefighting operations. It offers unequaled, extreme protection against burns to the face and neck, with the added benefit of reducing smoke and ash inhalation. Classified as an interface component of Wildland P.P.E..

  • The Hot Shield® face mask can help you breathe easier, dramatically reducing your stress level and allowing clear, rational decision making
  • Improved stretchable nose contoured for soft fit
  • Patented filter pocket allows insertion of a disposable particulate mask (sold separately)
  • CarbonX Mesh® covers the center ventilation orifice for easier air exchange and reduced CO2 build up
  • Inner liner is knit and woven CarbonX® that absorbs odor and wicks away perspiration
  • 3M™ ScotchLite™ reflective trim for night visibility
  • New CarbonX® outer shell repels excessive heat

  • Soft, comfortable layers of CarbonX® absorb odor and perspiration while keeping crucial airspace in front of the mouth and nose open, permitting insertion of a low cost, disposable, activated carbon, particulate filter with exhalation valve
  • Highly breathable CarbonX® mesh also covers the center ventilation orifice allowing easy air exchange and helps prevent CO2 buildup
  • CarbonX® is the only inherently non-flammable revolution fiber in the world that will not burn, ignite, char, shrink or decompose at temperatures exceeding 2600°F, even after extended periods of time.
