ASP Window Breaker Breakaway Cap, Black

The ASP Breakaway Cap turns your ASP expandable baton into the perfect window breaker. Attaches between the end cap and handle of any ASP Baton.

The BreakAway subcap is designed to be interposed between the cap and handle of an expandable baton. It is always available. It is readily at hand. Removing the baton cap exposes the three ceramic
pins of the BreakAway. Set in a machined aluminum geodome, at least one pin will make contact with the tempered glass of a car window whatever the angle of application. The officer can stand to the side of a threat, grasp the tip of the baton and easily shatter any vehicle window. Entry is rapid and tactically sound.

"I'm a U.S. Park Ranger/EMT and I used this product last week on a vehicle rollover with a patient trapped inside requiring extrication.

The vehicle was on the Driver's side and the only viable access was through the unbroken windsheild.

I used the breakaway as advertized using strikes in a circle to defeat the laminated windshield. The breakaway WAS working effectively until the ceramic tips all broke out. 2 of the ceramic tips fell out intact and one shattered.

I impacted nothing but windshield during this evolution and I have only had the breakaway for 2 months.

This was the first and only time I actually used the breakaway.

I have NO DOUBT to its merit for breaking a non-laminated tempered passenger window.

I do have doubts as to its durability with multi-strike windshield breaking. It should not be advertised for windshields."
